How to use Pollate: Five tips for polls

Anyone in the world can ask a question with Pollate on any topic – from sports to relationships, and more!  Here’s five tips to help you share your question on Pollate:

1) Get a feel for what you like: Use Pollate for a bit and get a sense for questions and answers.  You’ll soon get a feel for what you like (and don’t like) about others’ questions and possible answers.

2) There are no dumb questions: If it’s interesting to you, it’s probably interesting to others – poll away!  If it’s really interesting, it might even be moved up in priority so it’s the first poll people see.

3) Be clear with your question: Write a clear question that outlines the topic so it’s searchable – don’t rely on the answers to complete the question.  For example, “Which is your favourite?” doesn’t say what the question is about; is it actors, bunion remedies, ice cream flavours..?  A question like, “What ice cream flavour is your favourite?” is much more clear.

4) Cover all possible answers: You have two to six answer options – try to cover all possible answers.  Unless there is a clear yes/no type answer, consider an “other” option.  People’s answers may be something you didn’t expect. That said, don’t just include answers to fill them up – sometimes less it more!

5) Answer your own question: Don’t forget to answer your own question so you can see your question’s results and comments as they come in from other users.

Have fun using Pollate!
