With social media becoming more prevalent, its interesting to see the results of this Pollate poll.
Here email still has the lead for people’s non-business conversations and text messaging is strong too. With email 40 years old and text messaging 19, it seems the new social media kids have some work to do.

You can do a quick Google to get all the pros and cons of buying a new or used vehicle, but its up to us to decide which works for ourselves. This user’s poll shows what peoples’ choices are though:
No clear ‘winner’ here, and its still your call.

Most of us spend a considerable amount of time using social media. Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, etc. are a great way to keep up with friends and current events, but they can also be work focused. This Pollate poll helps break down how we use social media:

On May 20th, I posted results on talking on the phone while driving. I thought it would be interesting to follow up to see if people are using hands free devices. It looks like most people either use a hands free device or don’t talk and drive:
That leads to texting and and email. I definately use my iPhone for these, but I honestly just don’t think its safe to do while driving. Some people seem comfortable with it though:
Either way – safe travels!
read moreVoter Turnout
Those of us that live in democratic countries don’t fully step up when it comes to voting. For example in the last Canadian federal election, there was about 61% voter turn out. The last fed election in the US had about 57%. In the UK it was 65%.
Its kind of sad that we have the right to vote, but we all don’t. I know the arguments – its statistically not important to vote, or “I hate all the candidates”. Then there’s the “I’m too busy” excuse, which brings us to today’s poll results:
Call me old fashioned, but I just think we all should vote. I do, and then I aptly complain with “At least I didn’t vote for them” or “I can’t believe I voted for them”, which ever fits. Maybe online voting would help with turnout, and complaints.

Facebook is great to keep up with friends and fan pages (really, you should be a Pollate fan if you aren’t already). The problems is that Facebook has had more than its fair share of security issues (e.g. WSJ: Facebook in Privacy Breach).
How do we feel about this? Here are the results from the Pollate poll:
Obviously most of us are not comfortable with Facebook keeping our privacy.

For some reason I find it hard to pull myself away from a really bad informercial. There’s something about the actors’ way too excited response to some ‘revolutionary’ gizmo that I find addicting. Also, I’m always waiting for the “But wait, there’s more” pitch – its always the deal sealer. Although its the bad ones that catch my eye, others ones are working for the sale:

My six year old son is a Lego fanatic. I have to admit that I enjoy playing Lego with him too: time with him, time with Lego – win, win! Since he’s too young to be a Pollate user, he asked me to enter this poll:
The interesting thing is that Pollate users so far range in age from 14 to 73 – that’s one cool toy!

I usually stay in my pyjamas as long as I can (not just on weekends if I could). Looks like most would side with me on this.
Sadly, I’m not in my pyjamas while writing this. Hopefully next time!
I wonder if its the ‘coziness’ of the pyjamas, or is it something psychological, i.e. I must be chillin’ – I’m still in my pyjamas. Either way, I hope everyone who wants to lounge in their pyjamas is getting their pyjama time today.
